From manufacturing plants to parking decks, industrial waterproofing is about more than stopping leaks — it’s about protecting infrastructure, ensuring safety, and extending lifespan.
Epoxy resin coatings have become the preferred solution due to their chemical resistance, adhesion strength, and seamless finish.
In this guide, we’ll explain how epoxy waterproofing works, the standards it must meet in India, and which Magnifico products deliver the best results.
Why Epoxy Is the Best Waterproofing Material
-
Seamless & Impermeable - Epoxy creates a non-porous, joint-free surface that prevents water infiltration even under hydrostatic pressure. Unlike cementitious coatings, epoxy bonds directly to concrete and steel, forming a monolithic waterproof layer.
- Chemical & Abrasion Resistance - Magnifico epoxies are engineered for chemical plants, food facilities, and STP systems. They resist acids, alkalis, oils, and solvents — making them perfect for aggressive industrial environments.
-
Structural Protection - Epoxy coatings don’t just block water — they strengthen the substrate, sealing microcracks and improving surface hardness.
-
Long-Term Performance - With proper surface prep and curing, epoxy coatings can last 10–15 years without peeling, chalking, or fading.

Step-by-Step Industrial Waterproofing Process
-
Surface Preparation -
· Mechanically grind or shot-blast the surface to remove laitance and contaminants.
· Moisture content should be below 5%.
· Repair cracks using epoxy mortar.
-
Primer Coat -
· Apply a thin coat of Magnifico One Resin mixed at 3:1 (A:B).
· Let it penetrate pores to improve adhesion.
-
Main Coat -
· Mix 12H Ultra Clear Resin for medium or thick coatings (up to 3 mm).
· Spread evenly using a notched trowel or roller.
-
Reinforcement Layer (Optional) -
· For high-stress or movement areas, embed fiberglass mesh into wet epoxy.
- Topcoat / UV Seal -
· Apply a final coat of Metallic Clear Epoxy for UV resistance and color finish.
